Misquotes

I was misquoted in the Sunday Times in a piece on the Green Party convention.

Not a big deal really but I want to publicly record my disavowal of my use of the word ‘appallingly’ with regard to the party getting what it wants out of Government. I am happy to stand by the suggestion that what we are getting out of our participation falls a long way short of what we, as Greens, would like to see being done.

The remarks were part of an on-the-record dialogue between a reporter and a handful of GP members, all of whom made comments, around midday on Saturday. None of my colleagues took offence at my remarks.

Lastly, should the reporter seek to assert the veracity of her version I can only point out that she also managed to mistranscribe my name which was hung about my neck in large type and displayed to her for her convenience at the time.
