A good internal opposition is the best thing any party can have. The more the leaderships ludicrous behaviours are exposed the sooner we will put a stop to them. The resignation will be touted as a 'scalp' and displaying JG's 'toughness' but the reality is that they had blown their 'cred' with the confidence vote. I welcome it too. She is no scientist and no financial expert - so where was she more qualified for the Research&Innovation portfolio than the Court of Auditors..... I don't understand her stance, nor do I dislike her but the impression the episode leaves is of the 'holier-than-thou' Greens stumbling in the gutter....not doing much for our cause. A fair point

By resigning from the Seanad I think she indicated a profound disillusion with her party. By turning down another European job she showed considerable integrity. I hope that she continues to speak out. @Arthur Doohan
